Camp Phoenix MHDS & Fiber Installation

The BPA-SWA contract Hyperion was tasked with the deployment of new fiber connectivity supporting 10 end user buildings at Camp Phoenix in Kabul Afghanistan.  The project was to install three (3) 12 strand fiber network connections (SIPR, NIPR & CENTRIX) between the ten buildings for a total cabling installation of over 12,000 feet. Hyperion produced Manholes and Handholes for installation in the new conduit pathway and organized a local Afghanistan labor force to support the trenching and MH/HH installations. Hyperion was required to engineer, design and install baseband system components such as Grounding, Bonding and Shielding (GBS); Optical Fiber and Copper Transmission Systems; Inside Plant (ISP); and Outside Plant (OSP).
